Problem Solved
This job had presented many unique challenges and pressures. The first problem was the existing conditions, from wet unstable soils, to rock, and Pyrite. The second, our customer needed to begin building homes before our site work was scheduled to be completed.
Our team made a Plan and acted upon it. Soils were mixed, dried, and combined with Lime Stabilizing agents to achieve suitable materials. Additional materials were borrowed from Green areas where possible. This Plan allowed us to make the most of the varying existing site conditions and keep the project moving. The real benefit was having little to no import/export of materials, saving the customer both time & money.
Scope of Work
Completion of the sitework for the future construction of new residential neighborhood in Pittsburgh, PA. This project required us to move approximately 239,000 cubic yards of dirt, as well as installation of 16,600 linear feet of storm, 13,718 feet of sewer main, 12,680 feet of water main, and 80,000 square yards of asphalt paving.
Phase 1 of Meeder started in the winter of 2018, with 9 of the 11 phases being fully built by November of 2023. In order to build homes prior to the completion of site work, our team worked closely with the customer to listen & understand their needs. From here we built a schedule, providing them with smaller areas where homebuilding could begin. The team executed & delivered our promise “COUNT ON US”
